Baseball Preview: South Beloit Sobos vs. Alden-Hebron Green Giants

South Beloit is 0-7 against Alden-Hebron since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The South Beloit Sobos will be playing at home against the Alden-Hebron Green Giants at 4:30 p.m.

Sadly, South Beloit is still looking for their first win of the season after eight matchups. They took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of Westminster Christian in Saturday's second game. One positive for South Beloit, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Gage Pasiecznik was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Pasiecznik was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, JT Sanders made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Alden-Hebron was handed a seven-point loss in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against Christian Liberty on Thursday. Alden-Hebron had just enough and edged Christian Liberty out 8-6. The win was just what Alden-Hebron needed coming off of an 11-4 defeat in their prior match.

South Beloit's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Alden-Hebron, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
