Lakota East had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They enjoyed a cozy 35-20 win over the Centerville Elks on Friday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Thunderhawks' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while the Elks are ranked 33rd).

Coming up, Lakota East will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Oak Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Centerville, they will head out on the road to square off against St. Xavier at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
