Softball Game Preview: Times Squared Academy Eagles vs. Central Knights

Times Squared Academy is 0-5 against Central since May of 2018 but things could change on Monday. The Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Knights at 4:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

On Friday, Times Squared Academy got the win against Mt. Pleasant by a conclusive 17-3. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Kilties recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Central made easy work of Hope on Thursday and carried off an 18-8 win. Considering the Knights have won nine games by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Danna Garcia was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Janet Batista was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three RBI and two doubles.

Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Times Squared Academy's record is now 4-12. As for Central, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-7.

Times Squared Academy suffered a grim 17-7 defeat to Central in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
