Soccer Game Preview: Grand Prairie vs. Lamar

The Grand Prairie Gophers will head out on the road to square off against the Lamar Vikings at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Grand Prairie's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Last Tuesday, Grand Prairie came up short against Sam Houston and fell 3-1.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last contest, Lamar made sure to put some goals up on the board against Bowie on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Volunteers an 8-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Volunteers: they've now won eight in a row.

Grand Prairie's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9-1. As for Lamar, their win bumped their record up to 11-6-4.

Grand Prairie couldn't quite get it done against Lamar when the teams last played back in February as they fell 2-0. Can Grand Prairie avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
