Softball Game Preview: Bardstown Tigers vs. Metcalfe County Hornets

The Bardstown Tigers will venture away from home to face off against the Metcalfe County Hornets at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Bardstown has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with four straight losses, while Metcalfe County will come in with three straight wins.

Things were looking good for Bardstown after they put the first points on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They came up short against John Hardin, falling 14-6. Tigers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Bulldogs since on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Metcalfe County won against Glasgow on Friday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. Metcalfe County sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-8 victory over Warren Central.

Metcalfe County saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Allie Herrington, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Metcalfe County pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 8.0 runs this season. As for Bardstown, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
