Basketball Game Preview: Freedom Christian Academy Patriots vs. Overhills Jaguars

The Freedom Christian Academy Patriots will take on the Overhills Jaguars at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Freedom Christian Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

While Freedom Christian Academy's win against Fayetteville Christian wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Patriots skirted past the Warriors 98-95. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Patriots have posted since January 24th.

Karsten Swinney was his usual excellent self, putting up 47 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. The contest was his fourth in a row with at least 26 points. Bryce West was another key player, dropping a double-double with 18 points and 11 boards.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Freedom Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They racked up seven more assists than Fayetteville Christian's also-impressive total of 12.

Meanwhile, Overhills scored the most points they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of Lumberton by a score of 58-56.

Freedom Christian Academy pushed their record up to 3-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 105.0 points over those games. As for Overhills, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Freedom Christian Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Overhills when the teams last played back in January, winning 58-45. Do the Patriots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Jaguars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
