The Lamar Silver Foxes will square off against the Darlington Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Lamar is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.
Lamar's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over C.A. Johnson. The win was nothing new for the Silver Foxes as they're now sitting on three straight.

Ansley Fishel made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Jordyn Scarbrough and Cheyanne Anderson did most of the damage at the plate: Scarbrough scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances, while Anderson scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in both of her plate appearances. Scarbrough has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kynley Fishel, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Lamar always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .810. They are 4-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Darlington unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Wednesday. They lost 10-0 to West Florence. The game marked the first time this season in which the Falcons were not able to get on the board.
Lamar's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-8. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Darlington, their loss dropped their record down to 11-6.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Lamar has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .451. However, it's not like Darlington struggles in that department as they've averaged .438. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Lamar might still be hurting after the 12-1 defeat they got from Darlington when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can the Silver Foxes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
