Basketball Recap: St. James Snags Sixth Win in Last Eight Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Carolina Forest, St. James was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 37-28 win over the Conway Tigers. That's more bragging rights for the Sharks, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Ahchiya Hill and Rebecca Hemingway certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Hill posted 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, while Hemingway scored 13 points and three steals. Hill is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.

St. James is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Conway, they are on a 15-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.

St. James and Conway could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings. St. James (ranked 104th) will meet North Myrtle Beach (ranked 21st) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Conway will face off against Socastee at 6:00 p.m. on Friday down 123 places (200 vs. 77).
