Volleyball Recap: Columbus Takes a Loss

Columbus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Brookstone Cougars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Blue Devils of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Columbus was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Brookstone work for it, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-20, 28-26.

Columbus' offense was headlined by Keira Parsons and Leah Richardson, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Emma Cicora and her 12 assists. She also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Jaslyn Watts, racking up five apiece.

Columbus' loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Brookstone, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.

Columbus didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Glenwood on the 28th. As for Brookstone, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Starr's Mill on the 28th.
