Baseball Game Preview: Cortez Colts vs. Coronado Dons

For the second straight game, Cortez will face off against Coronado. Cortez will head out to challenge Coronado at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.

Cortez is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Coronado with a sharp 16-6 win on Tuesday. The Colts not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 22, 2024.

Andre Shepard was incredible, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Aeryk Snyder also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Cortez always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .564. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Coronado dropped their record down to 0-8 with the loss, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Cortez, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 2-7-1 record.
