Football Recap: Ziyon Corey Leads Southside's Defense on Friday + How To Watch

Southside extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-4. They took a 35-18 bruising from the Perquimans Pirates. The Seahawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pirates apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2019.

Even if they lost, Southside's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. In that department, Ziyon Corey was the leader with two.

As for Perquimans, they now have a winning record of 3-2. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Ataviyon White was his usual excellent self, rushing for 115 yards and one touchdown on only 14 carries. His longest rush was for an impressive 50 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Southside and Perquimans will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Seahawks see the field they'll take on East Carteret at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. As for Perquimans, their break will end when they face Gates County at 7:00 p.m. on October 3.
