Basketball Recap: Truckee Comes Up Short

On Saturday, the Truckee Wolverines were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 50-46 to the Reed Raiders. The Wolverines have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Reed was led to victory by Gabriel Smith and Josh Peterson. Smith posted 13 points and three steals, while Peterson had 17 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Peterson has scored at least a third of Reed's points. Chase Spencer was another key player, putting up four points.

Truckee's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Reed, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-9.

Truckee has already played their next matchup (against North Valleys), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Reed has already played their next contest, a 65-23 defeat against Spanish Springs on the 13th.
