After a string of six wins, Grant's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They came up short against the University Wildcats, falling 3-0. If the Lancers were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Wildcats when the teams met back in November of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While Grant was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into University's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-16, 25-20.

Gizel Barrios had a dynamite game For University., getting 19 digs and five aces. Those five aces gave Barrios a new career-high.

Grant's loss dropped their record down to 20-5. As for University, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-5.

Grant has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Monroe on the 13th. As for University, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Los Angeles CES on the 9th.
