Baseball Game Preview: Nyssa Bulldogs vs. Riverside Pirates

Nyssa has gone 8-2 against Riverside recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Bulldogs are taking a road trip to take on the Pirates at 12:00 p.m. Nyssa's hitters haven't had much luck over their past four contests, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Nyssa fell victim to McLoughlin and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against the Pioneers, falling 10-0.

Umatilla hit Riverside with a five-run sixth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Pirates lost 13-3 to the Vikings. Surprisingly, this marked the Pirates' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Roberto Lopez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.

Riverside has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Nyssa, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Nyssa beat Riverside 6-3 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
