Sentinel won the last time they faced Flathead and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Spartans blew past the Braves/Bravettes 15-1. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by ten runs or more this season.
Alyssa Hanninen was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Hanninen was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, Nina Samoury was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Payton Taylor also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Sentinel always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .550. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Flathead only posted an OBP of .292.
The victory got Sentinel back to even at 4-4. As for Flathead, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.
Sentinel didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-7 win against Glacier on the 10th. As for Flathead, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 10-6 victory against Hellgate on the 10th.
