Softball Recap: Cookeville Takes a Loss

Cookeville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Clay County Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-6 back in March.

Kadie Presley made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Addie Womack was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Cookeville's defeat dropped their record down to 6-17. As for Clay County, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Coming up, Cookeville will venture away from home to square off against Lebanon at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Clay County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
