Volleyball Recap: Hillcrest Hornets vs. Girard Trojans
Hillcrest's tournament run continued when they took on Girard on Saturday. The Hornets took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans.
Lillie Moore paced Hillcrest's offense, picking up 11 kills. Moore got some help from KeAshza Roy and her 19 assists. Molly Percival controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Caroline Bradshaw was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 11 digs and two aces. That's the most aces she has posted over her last 19 matches. Myleigh Franklin also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.
Hillcrest has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14-2 record this season. As for Girard, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-7.
Looking ahead, Hillcrest will host Carl Junction at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Girard, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Heritage Christian Academy on the 27th.
