Basketball Recap: Vero Beach Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Vero Beach and Treasure Coast squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Vero Beach had to settle for second. They fell to the Treasure Coast Titans 57-51. The Indians were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Titans earlier this season, when they won 57-44.

Treasure Coast's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Torre Washington, who posted 12 points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Dejuan Preston, who put up 11 points in addition to eight assists and three steals.

Vero Beach has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-12 record this season. As for Treasure Coast, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-12.

Vero Beach does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Treasure Coast, they will head out to face off against Central at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Central's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 18 matchups.
