Soccer Game Preview: Pueblo Central vs. Pueblo South

The Pueblo Central Wildcats will challenge the Pueblo South Colts at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Pueblo South better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Pueblo Central's game on Tuesday is any indication, that's when Pueblo Central really gets things going. The Wildcats put the hurt on Pueblo Centennial with a sharp 4-1 win. Considering Pueblo Central have won six matchups by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Pueblo Centennial with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Junior Hermosillo, Matt Leyba, Finn Simmons, and Bear Styduhar.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pueblo South). Everything went their way against Pueblo East last Tuesday as they made off with a 6-2 victory. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but Pueblo South were the better team in the second half.

Pueblo Central's win bumped their record up to 8-4-2. As for Pueblo South, their victory bumped their record up to 3-7-2.

Pueblo Central took their win against Pueblo South in their previous meeting back in September by a conclusive 5-2 score. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Colts have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
