Soccer Game Preview: Lake Dallas vs. Denton

The Lake Dallas Falcons will head out to square off against the Denton Broncos at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Lake Dallas' offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Saturday just wasn't the day for Lake Dallas' offense. They fell 2-0 to Bridgeport on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Denton put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their undefeated season alive. They never let Joshua onto the board and left with a 3-0 win. Given the Broncos' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 101st, while the Owls are ranked 281st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Chris Guillen and Joel Rodriguez scored all three of Denton's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 17 goals.

Lake Dallas' defeat dropped their record down to 5-3-1. As for Denton, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0-1.

Lake Dallas came out on top in a nail-biter against Denton in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Will Lake Dallas repeat their success, or does Denton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
