Softball Recap: Copper Canyon Aztecs vs. Independence Patriots

After flying high against Central last Wednesday, Copper Canyon came back down to earth. Copper Canyon fell just short of the Independence Patriots by a score of 10-9 on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Aztecs of the 16-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Ellecia Gonzales and Goldie Chambers stepped up to the plate in a big way. Gonzales scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances, while Chambers went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run.
