Softball Recap: Lockhart Comes Up Short

Lockhart was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Liberty Hill Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 12-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Marissa Sosa and Eveylyn Rodriguez did some serious damage despite the final result: Sosa went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double, while Rodriguez scored two runs while going 1-for-2. Presli Moebes also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Lockhart's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Liberty Hill, they pushed their record up to 12-2-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

Coming up, Lockhart will take on Hays at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Liberty Hill, they will square off against Glenn at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Glenn is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.
