Piute has gone 10-0 against Milford recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Piute Thunderbirds will look to defend their home court against the Milford Tigers at 7:00 p.m.

Last Thursday, Piute came up short against Panguitch and fell 60-48. While the Thunderbirds didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bobcats 16-8 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, Milford waltzed into their match on Saturday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. They strolled past the Raiders with points to spare, taking the game 75-60. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while the Raiders are ranked 126th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Milford's win came from a few key players Piute will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kielen Tsosie, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 17 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Sadler Barnes, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine assists.

Milford smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Milford pushed their record up to 13-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for Piute, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.

Piute didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Milford in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 57-52 win. Will Piute repeat their success, or does Milford have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
