Basketball Recap: Watts Comes Up Short

Watts was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 49-28 to the Welch Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Engineers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 448th, while the Wildcats are ranked 199th).

Watts' loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Welch, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Watts will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Bokoshe at 6:00 p.m. on January 31st. As for Welch, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Welch Wildcats take on the Commerce Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
