Football Recap: Bryant Skates Past Roosevelt with Ease

It's playoff time, and Bryant had no trouble coming through when it counted. They breezed past the Roosevelt Cougars to the tune of 44-6 on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but the Owls sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Mahdi Kobeissi produced another solid performance rushing for 110 yards and one TD, while also throwing for 110 yards and three touchdowns. Bryant's leading receiver Adam Oueriaguli was Kobeissi's top target yet again, picking up 66 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Bryant didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Houssine Altbouja and Kassimou Bouda. Altbouja is also on a roll when it comes to sacks, as he's now posted at least one in each of the last three games he's played. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Bryant's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Roosevelt, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Coincidentally, Bryant and Roosevelt will both be playing Eagle Academy III the next time they take the field. The Cougars will head out to face the Eagles on Sunday, while the Owls will play them later in the day, at 12:00 p.m.
