Mashpee came out on top against Upper Cape Cod RVT on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fifth inning. The Falcons blew past the Rams 9-2. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 10, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Gavin Lakatos spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Michael McGrail was incredible, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jackson Carlson, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Mashpee kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The win got Mashpee back to even at 4-4. As for Upper Cape Cod RVT, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mashpee will challenge Carver at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Upper Cape Cod RVT, they will venture away from home to square off against South Shore Vo-Tech at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
