Football Game Preview: South Park Burros vs. Byers Bulldogs

South Park is 0-3 against Byers since October of 2020 but things could change on Saturday. The Burros will host the Bulldogs at 1:00 p.m. This will be South Park's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.

South Park was handed a 44-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Saturday. They skirted past Belleview Christian 24-22. The Burros' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Byers, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in September. They blew past Belleview Christian 48-0 two weeks ago. The contest marked the Bulldogs' most dominant win of the season so far.

Byers' win came from a few key players South Park will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Gabe Price, who rushed for 124 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 11 carries. Price is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 120 every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of James Maes, who threw for 93 yards and two TDs on perfect 6-for-6 passing.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Byers proved: they limited Belleview Christian to a paltry 0.5 yards per carry. The team can thank Eli Cary for the heroic effort on defense: he. Byers didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 7.9.
