Basketball Game Preview: Sunnyvale vs. Lincoln Tigers

Sunnyvale will challenge the Lincoln Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Sunnyvale comes in on 13 and Lincoln on 12.

Sunnyvale is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They took down Canton 43-28.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Lincoln took on Panther Creek on Friday. Lincoln walked away with a 57-44 victory over Panther Creek. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while the Panthers are ranked 96th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lincoln's win came from a few key players Sunnyvale will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Lanae Dallas, who posted 16 points. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Grace Spencer, who earned 14 points.

Sunnyvale's win bumped their record up to 30-4. As for Lincoln, their victory bumped their record up to 35-2.

Sunnyvale came up short against Lincoln in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 46-40. Can Sunnyvale avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
