Softball Recap: Lone Star Comes Up Short

Lone Star has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.83 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They came up short against the Reedy Lions, falling 12-3. It was the first time this season that the Rangers let down their fans at home.

Makala Wallace made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Wooten, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and one stolen base.

Lone Star's loss dropped their record down to 14-8-1. As for Reedy, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 14-9.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Lone Star is set to take on their familiar foe Turner at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Reedy will square off against rival Newman Smith at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in the Lions' favor as the squad sits on seven straight wins at home while the Trojans have been banged up by ten consecutive losses on the road.
