Basketball Recap: R-S Central Sets Scoring Season-High Against Chesnee

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask R-S Central). They were the clear victor by a 51-29 margin over the Chesnee Eagles on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Hilltoppers have posted since February 16, 2024.

Lai Flack was her usual excellent self, putting up 25 points. That makes it 14 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of R-S Central's points. Another player making a difference was Niah Fritts, who posted nine points.

Despite the loss, Chesnee had strong showings from Dacie Green, who had six points and nine boards, and Olivia Tolleson, who scored ten points. Green is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played.

R-S Central's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-11. As for Chesnee, they dropped their record down to 3-15 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

R-S Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 49-24 win against Chase on the 21st. Chesnee has also already played their next matchup, a 38-28 victory against Liberty on the 17th.
