Baseball Recap: San Pedro Comes Up Short

If San Pedro was riding high fresh off their 13-5 takedown of Banning on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pirates lost 9-2 to the Pilots on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Pirates have suffered since March 28, 2025.

San Pedro got a good showing from Richie Flores, who pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Flores has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, San Pedro saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was John Kaercher, who went 1-for-2 with one run. AJ Bobich also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

San Pedro has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-10 record this season. As for Banning, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-8.
