Basketball Recap: Conway Springs Takes a Loss

Conway Springs lost against Trinity Academy back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Conway Springs Cardinals took a 49-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trinity Academy Knights. While the Cardinals didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Knights 14-10 in the first quarter.

When it comes to explaining why Conway Springs lost, don't look at Macie Hartman. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 22 points and 13 boards. The dominant performance gave Hartman a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Raylee Chitwood, who posted eight points and seven rebounds.

Even though they lost, Conway Springs smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Conway Springs' loss dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Trinity Academy, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-8-1.

Conway Springs didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 48-27 defeat against Cheney on the 25th. Trinity Academy has also already played their next contest (against Kingman), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
