Softball Recap: Clovis East Has No Trouble Against Clovis

Clovis East had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Clovis on Friday. The Timberwolves put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 10-1 win. The Timberwolves have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cougars, too.

Madison Masa was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Wolfe, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Clovis East was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Clovis East pushed their record up to 14-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Clovis, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clovis East will host Central East at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clovis, they will be playing at home against Clovis West at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Eagles have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
