Basketball Recap: Bonita Springs Comes Up Short

Bonita Springs played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Neumann Celtics and fell 72-9. The Bullsharks haven't had much luck with the Celtics recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

When it comes to explaining why Bonita Springs lost, don't look at Sydney Swanner. Despite the final result, she posted five points. That was a full 55.6% of Bonita Springs' points, marking the third time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points.

Neumann's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mylee Van De Wouw, who went 8 of 9 on her way to 18 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracyn Crosby, who went 6 of 8 on her way to 13 points in addition to six assists and four steals.

Bonita Springs' loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Neumann, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-9.

Bonita Springs wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 36-26 win against Island Coast on the 13th. Neumann has also already played their next game, a 50-17 victory against Golden Gate on the 10th.
