Basketball Recap: Matthew Foley Key Part of a Team Effort in Mavericks Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Joppatowne, Eastern Tech was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They managed a 47-41 victory over the Benjamin Franklin Bayhawks. This was payback for the Mavericks, who suffered a 58-39 loss the last time these two teams met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Eastern Tech to victory, but perhaps none more so than Matthew Foley, who posted 16 points and six steals. Foley has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Talan Brooks, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds.

The win got Eastern Tech back to even at 1-1. As for Benjamin Franklin, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Eastern Tech didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 70-57 victory against Lansdowne on the 11th. As for Benjamin Franklin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 47-41 loss against Academy for College and Career Exploration on the 10th.
