Basketball Recap: Deer Trail Extends Winning Streak to Four

Deer Trail won the last time they faced Liberty Tree Academy and Megan Donovan did her part to make sure it happened again. The Eagles walked away with a 32-24 victory over the War Eagles on Friday thanks in part to Donovan, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Donovan is also crushing it when it comes to blocks: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

The win was the fourth in a row (dating back to last season) for Deer Trail, bringing their record up to 3-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.5 points on average over those games. As for Liberty Tree Academy, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Deer Trail and Liberty Tree Academy will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Eagles see the court they'll take on Caliche at 4:00 p.m. on January 8, 2026. As for Liberty Tree Academy, their break will end when they face Monument Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 7, 2026.
