Softball Recap: Lee-Scott Academy Makes It Nine in a Row at Home

Lee-Scott Academy never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Dadeville Tigers with a sharp 9-0 win. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.

Railey Langford made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. What's more, she gave up only zero walks, the fewest she's had since back in February. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on McKenzie Johnson, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in February. Another player making a difference was Ansley Tate, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Lee-Scott Academy's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-6-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Dadeville, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Looking ahead, Lee-Scott Academy will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Wadley at 5:30 p.m. As for Dadeville, they will venture away from home to square off against Horseshoe Bend at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Horseshoe Bend will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Dadeville surely won't give up without a fight.
