Basketball Recap: Timnath's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Timnath waltzed into their matchup on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They breezed by the Greeley Central Wildcats to the tune of 66-34. The Cubs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 23 points or more this season.

Timnath was led to victory by Max Roselle and Jack Hemme. Roselle dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Hemme went 6 for 12 on his way to 15 points. The game was Hemme's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Reece Yoch, who posted ten points.

Timnath was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Greeley Central only racked up four assists.

Greeley Central lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Daniel Martinez, who scored 12 points and three steals. Martinez is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 21 games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Asher Mcdougal, who put up eight points.

Timnath has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.9 points per game. As for Greeley Central, they dropped their record down to 5-11 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Timnath will challenge Mountain View at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Timnath knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Mountain View likes a good challenge. As for Greeley Central, they will square off against Thompson Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Thompson Valley will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Greeley Central surely won't give up without a fight.
