Basketball Recap: Tonopah Valley Comes Up Short

Tonopah Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 48-12 loss at the hands of the Highland Prep Honey Badgers.

Tonopah Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Highland Prep, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

Tonopah Valley will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Cactus Shadows at 9:00 a.m. on January 3, 2025. Cactus Shadows will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Tonopah Valley surely won't give up without a fight. As for Highland Prep, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Fountain Hills at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Highland Prep's defense has only allowed 20.5 points per game this season, so Fountain Hills' offense will have their work cut out for them.
