Football Game Preview: New Town Titans vs. Franklin Indians

The New Town Titans will square off against the Franklin Indians at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Franklin took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on New Town, who comes in off a win.

New Town is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They came out on top against Woodlawn by a score of 40-27 on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Titans in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won three in a row.

Victor Jones was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 74 yards and two TDs.

New Town's run defense was locked in: Woodlawn could only muster 2.3 yards per carry. The Titans' ground attack was stronger, having averaged 4.7.

New Town didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Amir Johnson and Michael Green.

Despite a strong season so far, Franklin has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 12-7 heartbreaker at the hands of Randallstown. That's two games in a row now that the Indians have lost by exactly five points.

Franklin's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for New Town, their record now sits at an identical 6-3.

New Town didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Franklin when the teams last played last Saturday, but they still walked away with a 21-16 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Titans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
