Preview: Cass Colonels vs. Hiram Hornets
The Cass Colonels will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Hiram Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on October 20th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Cass suffered a rough 38-13 loss at the hands of Dalton. Cass was down 35-7 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Meanwhile, Hiram missed an extra point against Cartersville on Friday and it came back to haunt them. Hiram was just a hair shy of victory and fell 35-34 to Cartersville. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Kendarious Brown, who rushed for 187 yards on only 14 carries. Brown was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 53 yards. Chase Tyler also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Cass' loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Hiram, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-2.
Cass didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Hiram in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, but they still walked away with a 26-21 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cass since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
