Softball Recap: Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Comes Up Short

Our Lady of Lourdes Regional extended their losing streak to four on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 3-14 in the process. They came up short against the North Schuylkill Spartans, falling 15-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-1 on Friday.

Our Lady of Lourdes Regional saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Arianna Adams, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

As for North Schuylkill, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 12-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games.

On North Schuylkill's side, the team relied heavily on Brigid Flynn, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those four hits gave Flynn a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lindsay Brouse, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Our Lady of Lourdes Regional will face off against Mahanoy Area at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Red Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Bears have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season. As for North Schuylkill, they will square off against Danville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
