Basketball Recap: Timberlake Takes a Loss

Timberlake played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Bonners Ferry Badgers, falling 78-35. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 77th, while the Badgers are ranked third).

Timberlake's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nate Dykeman, who posted nine points. The dominant performance also gave Dykeman a new career-high in shooting accuracy (80%). Tyler Engelson was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Timberlake is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-10. As for Bonners Ferry, they pushed their record up to 20-1 with the victory, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Tigers challenge the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Timberlake is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.6 points per game this season. Bonners Ferry does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
