Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Jamie Washam and Dakota O'brien Lead Mcdonald County to Victory

McDonald County lost to Nevada back in December of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The McDonald County Mustangs managed a 57-52 win over the Nevada Tigers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Leading McDonald County to victory were Dakota O'Brien and Jamie Washam. O'Brien dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds, while Washam went 6 for 14 en route to 17 points and seven boards. O'Brien's evening made it seven games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Roslynn Huston was another key player, putting up four points and ten boards.

McDonald County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive matches.

McDonald County's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-9. As for Nevada, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.

McDonald County will have a chance to go back-to-back against Nevada: the pair will be back at it again later today.
