Basketball Recap: Nemaha Central Takes a Loss

Nemaha Central entered their match against Hiawatha on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Nemaha Central Thunder were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 47-46 to the Hiawatha Red Hawks. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Thunder came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Red Hawks are ranked 227th).

Having lost for the first time this season, Nemaha Central fell to 12-1-1. As for Hiawatha, their win bumped their record up to 5-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Nemaha Central has already played their next contest (against Silver Lake), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Hiawatha will challenge Riley County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
