Preview: Douglas Tigers vs. Bishop Manogue Miners

The Douglas Tigers will be home for the holidays to greet the Bishop Manogue Miners at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Douglas' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 67-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of Reno. While losing is never fun, Douglas can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nevada basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while Reno is ranked ninth).

Jett Lehmann put forth a good effort for the losing side as he dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. That's the first time this season that he pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Pitts, who scored 17 points.

Meanwhile, Bishop Manogue ended up a good deal behind Damonte Ranch on Thursday and lost 63-48. Bishop Manogue has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Douglas' loss ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-8. As for Bishop Manogue, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Douglas might still be hurting after the 68-44 loss they got from Bishop Manogue in their previous meeting back in February. Thankfully for Douglas, Carson Jensen (who scored 25 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
