Soccer Game Preview: Woburn Memorial vs. Melrose

Woburn Memorial is 0-8-2 against Melrose since October of 2015 but things could change on Wednesday. The Tanners will look to defend their home pitch against the Red Raiders at 4:15 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Woburn Memorial fell victim to Lexington and their airtight defense on Monday. They came up short against the Minutemen, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, Woburn Memorial can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts soccer rankings (they are ranked 178th, while Lexington are ranked 23rd).

Meanwhile, Melrose came up short against Wakefield Memorial on Monday and fell 3-1. That's two games in a row now that Melrose have lost by exactly two goals.

Woburn Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7-1. As for Melrose, they now have a losing record of 6-7-2.
