Volleyball Game Preview: Hermantown Hawks vs. River Falls Wildcats

The Hermantown Hawks will be taking part in a tournament against the River Falls Wildcats at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.

Hermantown is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest loss since August 28th last Tuesday. They came up short against Grand Rapids, falling 3-0.

Meanwhile, River Falls had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Warriors.

River Falls had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-22, 25-21, 25-15.

River Falls' win bumped their record up to 27-5. As for Hermantown, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.

Hermantown couldn't quite get it done against River Falls in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as they fell 2-0. Can the Hawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
