Baseball Recap: St. Joseph Spartans vs. Union Area Scotties
St. Joseph was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 13-3 to the Union Area Scotties. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Scotties this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-5 last Tuesday.
St. Joseph saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Hill, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Those stolen bases were Hill's first of the season. Martin Stickney was another, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.
St. Joseph's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Union Area, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. St. Joseph is set to square off against their familiar foe Leechburg at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Union Area will face off against rival Rochester at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
