Basketball Recap: Riverwood Gets the Win

Riverwood entered their tilt with Woodstock on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 60-59 win over the Woodstock Wolverines. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 67-64 back in December of 2024.

Riverwood was led to victory by Jr Leonard and Myles Nobles. Leonard went 12 for 22 on his way to 34 points and five rebounds, while Nobles dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. The match was Leonard's ninth in a row with at least ten points.

Riverwood has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.5 points per game. As for Woodstock, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-13.

Riverwood wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 63-57 loss against Sprayberry on the 4th. As for Woodstock, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 60-39 victory against River Ridge on the 4th.
